I’m sure you’ve seen a particular virus making headlines around the world.

In the ad world, however, there’s a different kind of virus.

Fear.

David Ogilvy wrote in his book:

“I never sit down to write an advertisement without thinking THIS TIME I AM GOING TO FAIL.”

All ad folks know this feeling. I know it a little too well.

But if this daunting thought of failing never existed, would we still possess our undying desire to evolve into bigger and better creative beasts? Or is fear really just an annoying devil on your shoulder? An industry virus that needs to die out?

This month, Youngbloods NSW and I give you the Fear issue.
